EXberliner & Asia Film Berlin present:

EXBlicks x Asia Film Berlin

Short Films by Cha Ji Ryang (OmeU)

Saturday, August 17th, 20:00 h
in presence of multimedia artist Cha Ji Ryang

EXBerliner and Asia Film Berlin team up to present media artist Cha Ji Ryang’s new work!

Website Cha Ji Ryang:

Strike, Sync (OmeU)

2012/2019, 10 min

A media work about a person living as an individual outside of the system. He retraces the life timeline of his life and announces he is disappearing from the system. The audience, using the same system can discover themselves as individuals synchronized with the timeline. This work was first released as a 2-channel video at the 2012 Busan Biennale and a new version will be screened in 2019.

BATS (Bat is not originally reversed) (OmeU)

2016/2019, 15 min

A community/project done with young 2nd or 3rd generation immigrants. Can the imaginary nation of BATS become native citizens? The project, launched in Montreal in 2016, was a performance awkwardly translated as “Bat is not originally reversed”. In 2019, AFB will show a single channel video of the newly completed BATS.

Only people who decided to leave can see everything (OmeU)

2019, 30 min

A record of various time and space and a visual work that captures the gaze of the angels and bats who left the place where they lived. This work was released as a 17-minute version of a 3-channel video via Gm: Gn(Space Can) in March of 2019, and the updated version will be shown for the first time with AFB.

GV (OmeU)

2019, 30 min
