Asia Film Berlin präsentiert:

Saturday Asia

New Home (OmeU)

Saturday, August 18th, 20:00 h
in presence of the director Cha Ji Ryang

Documentary, South Korea 2012, 90 min, director: Cha Ji Ryang

Midnight. People enter a brand new residence construction. Moving from one city to a newly developing city, they spend time in multi-family housing developments, urbanized studio developments and apartments in New City. “New Home” is about a particular generation who was not able to engage in urban planning; occupying their own residential space as a new “home”.

Cha Ji Ryang uses media to produce participatory projects. His works focuses on the individuals who suggest imagination to the system. In his projects, participants are recruited from online and offline. As an insiders of the system, they imagine and suggest alternatives to the system. He is currently participating in an artist residency program of ZK/U, Berlin.

Presented by Asia Film Berlin.
Asian Film Berlin (AFB) plays a major role in introducing Asian films to international audiences. From the recent art films to classics, AFB has been distributing high-quality Asian films since 2016. Starting March 2018, talented artists present films and performances in cooperation with AFB.
