The Sad Girls of the Mountains
(OmeU)

Monday, Dec. 23rd, 8:00 pm
in presence of the directors Candy Flip & Theo Meow

The Sad Girls are not here. They’ve fled to the mountains to make their own special brand of pornography in order to smash to patriarchy. What do they have to cry about? Find out at our annual Christmas PornBlicks in Candy Flip and Theo Meow’s homegrown mockumentary “The Sad Girls of the Mountains”. One thing it doesn’t have to cry about? It took home best feature at the year’s Pornfilmfestival Berlin. Miss it and you’ll be sad!

The most festive of EXBlicks traditions is back for the fifth time!
Special price: Porn & Glühwein 8 €

Germany 2019, 82 min, produced & directed by: Candy Flip & Theo Meow, with Hendrik Adams, Candy Flip, Katy Bit, Jenz Mau, Andrea Vupa Vulva

A clan of four young girls has retreated to a hut in the distant mountains to turn their backs on the world. They celebrate their own sadness as an act of resistance against patriarchy and finance their isolated existence through homemade pornography which they sell online. Excess money is donated to support Kurdish female militias in purchasing weapons. The clique has long since achieved cult status – as an idol for desperate teenagers and a dread for worried parents. Even the public prosecutor’s office can’t locate their exact whereabouts. When the television reporter Hendrik arrives at the mountain hut to shoot a documentary about the four girls, their feminist micro-utopia falls apart.

The Berlin filmmakers Candy Flip & Theo Meow stage their subversive-explosive feature film debut in the footsteps of Bruce LaBruce’s pornoterrorism. A truly independent film, financed by sex work and produced free from any production constraints or excessive expectations.
